A patient tutor for every subject, from kindergarten to senior year.
Ellie teaches the core subjects US schools actually use — math, English, science, social studies, history, chemistry and government — and gets students ready for the SAT and ACT. Students talk to her out loud, work one step at a time, and practise what they keep missing.
$20 a month for a student. Schools pay $25 per student for the entire school year. See both plans →
How Ellie teaches
She does not hand over the answer. She finds what the student knows, teaches one step, and asks them to do the next one — the difference between a tutor and an answer key.
Talk, or type
Tap the microphone and explain the problem out loud. Ellie listens, replies at the right grade level, and reads her answer back in a natural voice.
One step at a time
Every reply ends with a question the student can try. Maths shows the setup and one worked step; writing shows the sentence that needs work, not a finished paragraph.
Practice that remembers
Missed questions become the next practice set. A short grade check finds the right starting point in six questions, and everything is saved to the account.
Every core subject, K-12
Seven subjects, four grade bands, and a tutor that changes how she explains — not just what she says — between a second-grader and a senior.
Math
Counting to calculus: number sense, fractions, algebra, geometry, functions, statistics and SAT/ACT math.
English / ELA
Phonics, reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, literary analysis, rhetoric and essay writing.
Science
Weather, ecosystems, cells, matter, energy, forces, earth and space, and scientific reasoning.
Social Studies
Community, maps, cultures, US regions, world history, geography, civics and economics.
History
Then and now, colonial America, the Revolution, ancient civilizations, world wars and historical thinking.
Chemistry
Matter and its properties, atoms, the periodic table, bonding, stoichiometry, acids and bases, organic chemistry.
Government
The Constitution, the three branches, federalism, civil liberties, elections, public policy and comparative systems.
SAT & ACT
Test-style questions, the traps, pacing and the method — separate from grade-level courseware.
SAT and ACT prep that teaches the test
Same tutor, different rules. Ellie names the question type and the trap, teaches the fastest reliable method, and never invents a score.
SAT
- Math — Heart of Algebra, Problem Solving and Data Analysis, Advanced Math, Geometry and Trigonometry
- Reading and Writing — Information and Ideas, Craft and Structure, Expression of Ideas, Standard English Conventions
- Short passages, four choices, evidence questions and the classic distractors
- Practice questions generated at the student's current level
ACT
- English — usage, punctuation, sentence structure and rhetorical skills
- Math — pre-algebra through trigonometry, calculator allowed
- Reading — key ideas, craft and structure, integration of knowledge
- Science — data representation, research summaries, conflicting viewpoints
Ellie is a tutor, not an official test. No score is predicted or promised; the practice is there to build the skill the score depends on.
For schools: one purchase, every student
Buy seats for the whole school year and hand out a join code. No student card, no monthly invoice, no per-family setup.
$25 per student, for the entire school year
One payment per seat. A seat can move to another student if someone leaves. The licence runs to the end of the school year.
- Administrator dashboard with join code, roster and seat count
- Students join with a code — no payment page, ever
- Usage visible to the school, per student and in total
- Buy by card, or request a purchase order and pay by invoice
Why schools choose it
Because the alternative is 400 families each entering a card.
A school licence is $25 a student for the year. A student paying monthly pays $20 a month, or $240 a year — the school price is $215 less per student, and the school controls who has a seat.
If a school has not bought a licence, students can still use Ellie on the $20 monthly plan. Nothing is locked behind a school code.
Built to be safe with students
Age-appropriate by design
Ellie's tone, sentence length and examples change by grade band. A five-year-old and a senior do not get the same explanation.
No finished homework
Homework mode gives the method and one step, never a completed answer to copy. The student does the thinking; Ellie checks it.
Honest about limits
Ellie can be wrong. She is told never to invent facts or formulas, and students are always asked to check with their teacher.
Start with the grade they are in
Six adaptive questions find the right starting point. A parent, a teacher or the student can change it at any time.
